The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the gospel throughout the world and to disciple men of every nation. The fulfilment of that Great Commission, requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total commitment to "Him who loved us and gave Himself for us" (Ep 5:2)

When we come to God, it is because we are responding to His voice. It is God who initiates; God who calls; God who saves. When we truly see Him for Who He is, we are compelled to worship Him, to respond to His nature.

When we as God’s disciples respond, others are blessed. When we as the church of Christ respond, our communities are blessed. As the Lord taught us in part to prayer, “Thy Kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt 6:10) This is the calling Christ has given to His church and He also commanded “as you go preach the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal, cleanse, raise up and cast out. Freely you have received, freely give.” (Matt 10:7-8).

Through the obedience of the church to these commands, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we are able to show to other’s what God is really like, Who's essence is first love. This begins as we worship Christ for Who He is and praise Him for the things He’s done. As we read and study the Bible, through prayer, serving others, living generously, and sharing His amazing story, we are bringing His kingdom into a collision course with this one by demonstrating “the gospel is not a matter of talk, but of His power” (1 Cor 4:20). Living this out is the desire of Coastal Community Church.
